In a momentous celebration, Distribution & Control Products, Inc. (DCPI) marked its 30th anniversary on August 2, 2023. Over the past three decades, DCPI has evolved into a trusted and innovative player in the Philippines’ electrical distribution industry. The company’s journey has been defined by its commitment to quality, adaptability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
As DCPI marks its 30th anniversary, it’s an occasion not only to celebrate but also to reflect upon the past three decades of not only the accomplishments, but also the challenges we faced, serving as building blocks to where we are now.
A Vision Realized
Founded in August 1993 by industry professionals, DCPI emerged with a clear vision: to be the leading distributor of electrical products. Starting with a focus on molded case circuit breakers, the company has consistently strived for excellence. From the outset, DCPI disrupted the market by importing high-quality Square D circuit breakers from the USA, providing alternatives to dominant brands in the Philippines. This move challenged the status quo and set the stage for the company’s growth.
Adapting and Innovating
Schneider Electric’s acquisition of Square D in the mid-90s marked a turning point. DCPI became one of Schneider Electric’s esteemed local distributors, broadening its product range to include industrial control, power distribution, and systems equipment. DCPI’s adaptability and innovation shone through as it expanded its product portfolio. In 2007, 3M electrical products, including tapes and splicing kits, were added. By 2010, structured cabling and telecommunication products from 3M joined the offerings. Since then, the company grew steadily developing to the institution that we know now.
30th Anniversary Celebration
On August 2, 2023, DCPI celebrated its 30th anniversary with a memorable day. The festivities commenced with a solemn mass at the DCPI Office Building in Mandaluyong City, reinforcing the company’s core values. Later that evening, a lively celebration took place at the Architectural Centre Club, Inc. (ACCI) in Makati City, uniting the company’s employees, partners, and friends–as they share food, laughter, and memories.
The Road Ahead
As DCPI looks to the future, it remains a prominent force in the Philippine electrical distribution industry. The company continues to provide substantial stocks of ABB and Schneider Electric circuit breakers, Federal Pacific DRY-type transformers, and 3M electrical products to its network of dealers, OEMs, and contractors.
